Workshop with Tricia Booth

A workshop with Tricia Booth was held at the Congleton Iyengar Yoga Centre on Saturday September 20th. At B.K.S Iyengar’s request, Tricia is one of the named teachers who has long-standing teaching experience and is listed as one of The Most Senior Leading Teachers of the UK. She also emphasised the legacy that B.K.S. Iyengar, who passed away recently, has left for us all with his method of practising yoga.

Tricia was a physiotherapist when she began practising Iyengar Yoga. She has been teaching for over 40 years and has made many visits to Pune in India to study with B.K.S Iyengar and has taken numerous classes with him on his visits to the UK. Tricia was Chairman of the Manchester and District Institute of Iyengar Yoga Executive Committee from 1983 to 2010. She has served as Chairman of the Assessment and Teacher Training Committee of the Iyengar Yoga Association (UK) and is a Moderator for teacher assessments.

Tricia taught a range of poses to the attendees of mixed ability, from those relatively new to Iyengar Yoga through to existing teachers, emphasising the importance of the feet in many of the poses.

Christina said, "I’m very pleased that Tricia was able to come to teach at the Centre, she was my teacher trainer and I learnt a lot from her and she is very passionate in sharing her experiences."
